We deliver educational, play-based learning.Billy Lids Kindy also supports the Early Years Learning Framework through the following:
We pride ourselves on providing a safe and stimulating environment to ensure successful development of your children at the most fundamental stages of their life.
We recognise that quality educational programs significantly influence children’s development in all areas. We have the opportunity to provide a supportive learning environment and program, gaining inspiration from the children and families. Thoughtfully planned experiences and environments encourage the children to feel a sense of control over their actions, be curious and investigate, and explore their understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them.
We aim to enhance children’s learning and development through the pedagogical practices of educators in a positive learning environment through which the five learning outcomes from Early Years Learning Framework are supported and promoted. Educators will gather and interpret information about children as individuals to inform the preparation of the environment, and implement experiences that are engaging and meaningful, supporting children’s holistic development.
Children’s learning is ongoing and each child will progress towards the outcomes in different and equally meaningful ways. Learning is not always predictable and linear. Educators plan with each child and the outcomes in mind.
The approved learning frameworks included principles, practices and learning outcomes that guide educational leaders and educators in their curriculum decision making, and assist them in planning, delivering and evaluating quality programs in early childhood settings.
Our nursery program supports and nurtures your baby’s development. Babies can learn a lot through play and interaction between their parents and caregivers is pivotal to developing their communication and understanding of the world. Many things make different babies happy so we try out different ways of interacting and playing with babies such as music and rhythm. Rhymes and songs are wonderful sources of early learning and enjoyment which can encourage your baby’s development.
Toddlers are curious about everything and are keen to play, experiment and explore.
Recognising that play is how your child develops thinking, imagination and creativity we structure all learning activities around play which will help your child:
• build confidence
• feel loved, happy and safe
• develop social skills, language and communication
• learn about caring for others and the environment
• develop physical skills
• connect and refine pathways in their brain
Curious toddlers aged 2-3 years develop their most important skills by playing and experimenting. Throughout this stage of life your child will begin to understand peer relations, turn taking, seperation and so much more. They will become increasingly independent and aware of their abilities.
We ensure that your child can develop their new found independance in a safe, stress free manner.
Our toddler room encourages:
• Social interactions
• Recognition of posessions
• Self-help play
• Cooking experiences
• Sensory experiences
Between the ages of 3 and 4 children develop a real understanding of who they are and what they want. Articulating needs becomes a main focus and the need to learn as much as possible is also enhanced. Our Wiggles discuss what they would like to do each day with their morning group time, and they enjoy these as well as programmed activities that enhance their abilities. They begin to form close friendships, understand concepts of empathy and emotions. Our Wiggles are full of energy and want to learn, which is why we design our programs around their interests and abilities. We ensure that your child is confident and ready to head toward their next big challenge – School.
While our juniors program is still child initiated play, it is a little more structured and focuses on:
• Letter and word recognition
• Sentence structure through play
• Puppets and felt boards
• Cooking following diagram recipes
